Happy May!

Okay but how is it May? Hope everyone has had a good year so far - it feels like it’s been a blur, but we’re here! Here’s my piece “May” to show you that I actually appreciate this month a lot.

This is always a refreshing time for me. I think the sunshine and everything in North Carolina becoming so green and full of life gives me life too.

May is also the month I decided to make my art my day job! I left my last job FOUR years ago and fully opened my little shop on May 15th, 2020.

Here’s a few photos from those first few months. We lived in a tiny apartment so I did most of my work on the floor. Drawing, cutting prints, and packing orders in the middle of our living room. (Pepper loved it because he’s a paper guy)

So here’s to four years! Thanks for being here!

I’ve been slowly and quietly working on the first issue of my Fishtown comic!!! My goal is to have it ready for Patreon by the end of May, but due to being eternally time blind it’ll probably be June. Here’s a few of the residents that you’ll get to meet! More sketches like these are available to patrons if you’re into that sort of thing.

In other news, the last few pieces from my show last fall are available in the shop for 20% off right now! They’ll also be coming with us to Artsplosure May 18th & 19th :)

It’ll be our first time vending out there so I’m really excited! I grew up going to Artsplosure with my mom and it was something I always looked forward to. I wish I could go back and tell little me she’d get to be an artist there one day - she’d think that was pretty neat.

We also have goodies at Curate at Crabtree now until the first week of July. If you’re out and about, this store is a great place full of locally made work! (They also have a location in Downtown Raleigh)
